Diversity Calendar 2008

The calendar is now established as the leading annual Diversity publication in the UK and Ireland.  It is a practical resource for all staff as each month includes details of all the main religious and secular dates - including bank holidays.  The calendar helps managers and supervisors to ensure that staff meetings and organisation events are not planned for dates when key sections of the workforce or customer base cannot participate.  We also know that numerous trainers use the calendar to support their diversity and equality training.

As well as all of this, the calendar is an ideal and cost effective way to promote your organisation’s commitment to diversity and inclusion – to staff, to clients and to the wider community.  Many organisations for example, provide a calendar for their staff, some offer the calendar at events and others send out copies of the calendar at Christmas time.

The Diversity Calendar includes key religious, secular and diversity days throughout 2008 including answers to the following......

When is Easter Sunday?
When is the International Day of Peace?
When does Ramadan start?
When is Father's Day?
When is Dwali?
When is Human Rights Day?

As well as the dates pages the 2008 calendar features 12 diversity topics which provide useful information and are ideal for discussion or supporting diversity training sessions.

January - Integration and Cohesion
February - Buddhism
March - Poverty
April - Islam
May - Weight
June - Sikhism
July - Sexuality
August - The Bahai Faith
September - Hinduism
October - Migrant Workers
November - Christianity
December - The Golden Rule

In addition to this there is information on the 8 Millennium Development Goals plus some inspirational quotes from Gandhi, Kofi Annan, Saint Augustine, Confucius, Mother Theresa and even an African proverb!

The back page featurs messages from Alex Salmond (First Minister of Scotland), Bertie Ahern (Irish Taoiseach), Rhodri Morgan (First Minister of Wales) and Parmjit Dhanda (Minister for Community Cohesion).
